Alfredo

Alfredo Almanza was diagnosed with mild hemophilia A as a young boy. However, he grew up during a time when there wasn't much information about hemophilia, and culturally, it was very hard to talk about. So he suffered on many levels into his mid-thirties, until a really bad knee injury made him take his disorder seriously. The mission of Alfredo and his wife, Cynthia, is to increase awareness of hemophilia among parents and in schools in the Hispanic community.

Arther

Arther Scott was diagnosed with severe hemophilia A at age 2. But he hasn't let it get in the way of the things he loves most, like playing basketball. A severe ankle injury almost ended his ability to play competitively. That injury changed his life and strengthened his determination to remain active and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. His mission is to share how he safely stays physically active.

Shawn

Shawn Decker was diagnosed with moderate hemophilia A at age 2. Growing up, people treated him differently because of his condition. After graduating from high school, he realized that being more open and focusing on the human side of his medical condition was much easier than keeping everything bottled up. He is now a blogger with a passion for public health, and he and his partner, Gwenn, have spoken at hundreds of colleges. Their mission is to educate people about having a nurturing relationship when one partner is living with a medical condition.

Daniel

Daniel DeRatto was diagnosed with severe hemophilia A at 5 months. As a boy, he learned that having hemophilia didn't have to be awkward; that most people would treat him the same as anyone else. To further encourage Daniel to take control of his condition, his mother, Patricia, actively supported his desire to play sports. Daniel understands the challenges of transitioning into adulthood while living with hemophilia. His mission is to speak to young children and teenagers about how to deal with the challenges of growing up with hemophilia.

Eric

Eric George was diagnosed with hemophilia A when he was born. Growing up in a family with 4 siblings who all have hemophilia taught him that the condition doesn't have to be a negative experience or stop you from achieving goals. In fact, he built a strong network around himself in the hemophilia community and he believes in the power of sharing experiences. His mission is to help others with bleeding disorders learn how to push past their challenges and live their lives to the fullest.

Tyler

Tyler Newhart was diagnosed with hemophilia A at birth. Hemophilia A has not held Tyler back one bit. In fact, he was recruited to pitch for his college baseball team. Tyler thrives on the support he has received from his family, teammates, and others, which has helped him become confident about living with and successfully managing his hemophilia. Tyler's mission is to empower kids with hemophilia to have a strong sense of physical and mental strength to help find balance and control over their disease.

Brian

Brian Almquist was diagnosed with hemophilia A at an early age. Because of the great support from the staff at his hemophilia treatment center, he learned how to be cautious while remaining very active. Throughout his life, Brian hasn't allowed hemophilia to limit his love of outdoor activities. Attending conferences, camps, and other hemophilia community events has also expanded his network of support and friendship. Brian's mission is to speak with families about his experiences living with hemophilia to remind them that they are not alone.
